Watch with Spooool 2 – “Dazed & Confused” and “Do The Right Thing”

dazed and confused

So nine months ago we tried something called Watch with Spooool where we picked some movies we’d watch and talk about them during the podcast. It was fun. We decided to do it again but you only have a week to watch them so get the lead out!

do the right thingWe’re recording our 20th podcast on Sunday 27th and have picked two summer films as tis the season. Firstly Richard Linklater’s Dazed and Confused which ties in nicely with the release of Boyhood, his 12 year epic. It’s seen as a quintessential teen slacker movie which is really what the summer is all about.

Next is Spike Lee’s Do the Right Thing which follows the lives of a small community neighbourhood in New York on the hottest day of the year. Back in 2007 the AFI included it in it’s 100 Greatest Films of All Time poll ranking it at number 96. Dazed and Confused does not feature on the list, hmmm.

So get watching (one or both of em) and let us know your thoughts @spoooolers, on facebook or to contact@spooool.ie! Feel free to send us an audio clip.

Páraic wanted to be a gangster as far back as he can remember. Brought up on a diet of films he was too young to be watching by his brothers, all things 80s teens thanks to his sisters and the classics by his folks he's turned into a well-rounded (maybe a little too round) film lover. Only recently discovering North by Northwest, he longs for a train journey with a beautiful blond.
