Cold in July
Cold in July looks like a brutal and compelling thriller, the perfect kind of a film to go to on a long summer day when everyone is pissing you off. It tells the story of a man who kills an intruder into his home and has to contend with the man’s father and a crooked cop.
Director Jim Mickle has done well to secure the services of Michael C. Hall in the lead role with two of the best grizzled, supporting actors in Hollywood – Sam Shepard and Don Johnson – in action as the father and police-man respectively.
The film was one of the breakout hits from this years Sundance Film Festival and also just played at Cannes’ Director’s Fortnight. Also it has some fake creases in the poster so must be decent, right?
