District 9 – Send in the Clowns

Commiserations to Ireland’s own Andrew Norton for his “Done in 60 Seconds” take on District 9.

The “Done in 60 seconds” competition is run by Jameson in association with some film magazine called EMPIRE (I’d never heard of it either), where entrants must summit their interpretation of a film of their choosing lasting no longer than 60 seconds. All entrants were whittled down to a final 5 where Andrew found himself in competition with Chile, Bulgaria, the UK and Kazakhstan.

The winning entry came from Kazakhstan’s Indira Suleimenova and her version of Black Swan. You can see the winning video below and find out more about Andrew and the other finalists here.

Better luck next time Andrew but at least the Brits didn’t win this one!

Páraic wanted to be a gangster as far back as he can remember. Brought up on a diet of films he was too young to be watching by his brothers, all things 80s teens thanks to his sisters and the classics by his folks he's turned into a well-rounded (maybe a little too round) film lover. Only recently discovering North by Northwest, he longs for a train journey with a beautiful blond.
