Sad to think that Zach Galifianakis and Owen Wilson haven’t appeared on-screen together yet. Two of cinema’s most-likeable souls kept apart by the powers that be.
But not for long!
Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner today announced that the two men will star in his first feature in 15 years, You Are Here, which starts shooting in May.
Wilson and Galifianakis will play childhood best friends who go on a road trip after Galifianakis’ character inherits significant coin following the death of his estranged father. Amy Poehler would play Galifianakis’ sister.
The fact he has snared TV-favourite Amy Poehler for an all-too-rare big-screen appearance makes this all the more appealing.
I wouldn’t call myself a fan of Mad Men, but admire it for what it is and like to think I watch enough episodes to be able to engage in the endless conversation that surrounds the show. Pretty intriing to see what Weiner can do when forced to limit himself to a nice two hour format.
