New York Magazine’s illustrators have been hard at work on re-imaging Summer Movie Casts as High School Cliques.
Pick of the bunch is without doubt their rendering of Wes Anderson’s upcoming Moonrise Kingdom, a film we’re very excited about here at Spooool.
Moonrise Kingdom as … The Hipsters
That sound you hear — 1960s folk rock — is definitely coming from the Moonrise Kingdomtable, where Wes Anderson’s crew exults in hard-to-find vinyl. As Bill Murray and Jason Schwartzman prove too cool for school (Schwartzman’s reading some J.D. Salinger novel, but you probably haven’t heard of it), Tilda Swinton’s ironic knitting habit references her ironic love of Portlandia‘s “Put a Bird on It” sketch. So … it’s sincere?
