Here’s that verse as written in everyone’s favourite book, The King James Bible.
Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.
Even though the last Hollywood film about an ark was the over-blown shambles that is Evan Almighty, there is still an incredible amount of buzz surrounding this project. Noah is Aronofsky’s first film after the critically acclaimed Black Swan and stars Russell Crowe in the titular role alongside Emma Watson, Jennifer Connelly, Ray Winstone and Sir Anthony Hopkins who was announced yesterday as the 900-year-old Methuselah.
It is also Aronofsky’s first film to enter production after he pulled out of the recently-revived The Wolverine.
Noah will arrive in cinemas some time in March 2014. No current date has been announced for the flood that will surely follow.
