So he might be about to direct a music video for Metallica and Lou Reed, perpetrators of the worst album in the history of recorded music, but director Darren Aronofsky has also found some time in the last few weeks to tell the kids to stay away from drugs.
Usually these anti-drugs ads are condescending and/or unintentionally hilarious – a few examples here – but sometimes they hit the nail on the head. Aronofsky’s efforts are chilling, uncomfortable and I’ll be damned if I’ll be damned if I feel like smoking that little bag of crystal meth I’ve got in my room any time in the next few weeks!
Nice to see him embracing his Requiem for a Dream and Black Swan dermatology weird side once again.
