5) A Nightingale Falling makes its debut

BLACK AND TANS

Last night the new Irish film A Nightingale Falling had its homecoming premiere at the IMC Tullamore with cast and crew in attendance. The film makes its debut in irish cinemas next week.

A Nightingale Falling is one of the first War of Independence dramas since The Wind That Shakes The Barley and if you’re looking for your fix of black and tan action then you know where to look.

The film previously screened at Galway and our guest reviewer Conor Bent wasn’t crazy about it, but it was the only film at the festival with sufficient box office demand to warrant a second encore screening. It also plays the 5th Underground Cinema Film Festival next weekend in Dun Laoghaire, and it will also screen at the aforementioned inaugural Sky Road Film and Television Festival in Clifden tonight.

Páraic

Páraic wanted to be a gangster as far back as he can remember. Brought up on a diet of films he was too young to be watching by his brothers, all things 80s teens thanks to his sisters and the classics by his folks he's turned into a well-rounded (maybe a little too round) film lover. Only recently discovering North by Northwest, he longs for a train journey with a beautiful blond.
