4. Tarkovsky films for free on Open Culture
Now this post may be from 2010 but I only became aware of it on Twitter during the week. Open Culture is a nifty legal website which links to free sites around the web and they group films by directors – hence the Tarkovsky films grouping. A great way to introduce yourself to his work. Don’t just take our word for it here is what Ingmar Bergman says of Tarkovsky.
“for me he is the greatest, the one who invented a new language, true to the nature of film, as it captures life as a reflection, life as a dream.”
