1. Stephen King’s The Stand is up and running.

It was announced at the end of last week that Stephen King’s epic novel The Stand was to be turned into not one, but four films, with The Fault in Our Stars director Josh Boone adapting the screenplay. He was talking to fellow director Kevin Smith and proclaimed:

We are going to do four movies, and we’re going to do The Stand at the highest level you can do it at, with a cast that’s going to blow people’s minds

Cue Wednesday’s news that Matthew McConaughey is hotly tipped to play Randall Flagg, one of the leading characters of the novel. The book was turned into a 6 hour TV mini series twenty years ago starring Gary Sinise and Molly Ringwald. At over 1000 pages long it will be no mean feat to turn it into four engaging and digestible films. S-O-O-N spells soon. #thestandhumour
