Running from Wednesday the 23rd of September until September 27th the IFI documentary festival will screen 14 feature length documentaries, 10 of which will be Irish premieres.

Pictured above is what surely will be a stand out of the festival in Steve McQueen: The Man and Le Mans. It takes a look back to how Steve McQueen made a film about the French endurance race Le Mans which was a commercial flop. The screening also entails a Q&A with co-director John McKenna.

3) The Jungle Book has a trailer

jungle book

The first trailer for Jon Favreau’s live action take on The Jungle Book has swung into the jungle. It just shows some stock footage from the film as Scarlett Johansson’s voice narrates the footage as the voice of Kaa. Bill Murray will voice Baloo and Idris Elba is Shere Khan. We won’t be seeing this anytime soon with a release date of April 2016 – just in time for the Easter Rising centenary celebrations.

4) Mockingjay Part II new trailer “For Prim”

More a summary of the other films as opposed to a trailer, we have this offering from the folks behind The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part II. I have seen the first Hunger Game movie and nothing else but I presume this Prim person is important. Anyway it hits screens November 19th.

5) Bridge of Spies trailer 2

Do we tire of Spielberg and Hanks? No we do not.

It’s due on our shores at the end of November.

Páraic wanted to be a gangster as far back as he can remember. Brought up on a diet of films he was too young to be watching by his brothers, all things 80s teens thanks to his sisters and the classics by his folks he's turned into a well-rounded (maybe a little too round) film lover. Only recently discovering North by Northwest, he longs for a train journey with a beautiful blond.
