1) IFI Spotlight is tomorrow

CodedLand-3lrg

The IFI Spotlight event is an opportunity to present a concentrated focus on Irish film and television. This year they are presenting key new Irish features and a day-long seminar chaired by Margaret Kelleher (Chair of Anglo-Irish Literature at UCD and IFI Chair), that will focus on film and television production made in or about Ireland during 2013.

Spotlight will feature a series of discussions and debates on film and television; Perception of Irish film, The Year in Review, Soapbox and Cross-Cultural Connections.

This will be complemented by the release of three new titles during the month of April, John Michael McDonagh’s Calvary (opens April 11th), the screen adaptation of John Banville’s The Sea (opens April 18th), and Pat Collins’ Living in a Coded Land (opens April 25th and is pictured above).

The events are free but are going fast so get your tickets by contacting the IFI Box Office on 01 679 3477 or emailing boxoffice@irishfilm.ie.

Páraic

Páraic wanted to be a gangster as far back as he can remember. Brought up on a diet of films he was too young to be watching by his brothers, all things 80s teens thanks to his sisters and the classics by his folks he's turned into a well-rounded (maybe a little too round) film lover. Only recently discovering North by Northwest, he longs for a train journey with a beautiful blond.
