4) Irish Folk Horror “The Woods” gets a poster

the woods

Director Corin Hardy’s The Woods has a shiny new poster. It was originally known as “The Good People” and concerns evil woodland creatures feared and revered by the locals.

The Irish folk horror stars Joseph Mawle (Game Of Thrones) and Bojana Novakovic (Edge of Darkness), with Michael McElhatton (Shadow Dancer), and Spooool favourite Michael Smiley. Here are some words…

…a molecular geneticist who moves with his family to a mill house in the Irish countryside. But lurking in the woods is a horde of demonic creatures, and soon the family must fight for their survival.

Hardy made people take note with his excellent stop motion animation Butterfly back in 2003. He is finishing post production on his debut feature at Roger Corman’s old studio in Galway. A trailer and release dates should be forthcoming soon enough.

Páraic wanted to be a gangster as far back as he can remember. Brought up on a diet of films he was too young to be watching by his brothers, all things 80s teens thanks to his sisters and the classics by his folks he's turned into a well-rounded (maybe a little too round) film lover. Only recently discovering North by Northwest, he longs for a train journey with a beautiful blond.
